I-10 Caltrans General Purpose Lane Closures
Metro was recently made aware of several incidents that occurred in late September and early October, where general purpose lane traffic on the I-10 was diverted into the I-10 Metro ExpressLanes. Traffic diversion into the ExpressLanes resulted from road construction activities. The road construction crews did not coordinate these closures with Metro ExpressLanes. As a result, transactions were posted to customer accounts or resulted in a notice of toll evasion being sent to the registered owner of the vehicle. Metro ExpressLanes is working with the road construction crews to ensure they follow the expected procedures in the future.
Metro ExpressLanes will be dismissing all of the associated transactions during these incidents. Tolls posted to customer accounts will be reversed and tolls that were processed as Notice of Toll Evasion will be dismissed. Refunds will be processed for all paid Notice of Toll Evasion. Change to Pay-As-You-Go Processing Fee
Beginning November 1st, 2023, the Pay-As-You-Go processing fee will increase from $4 to $8 per notice. In parallel, the Past Due Penalty for notices that are not paid on time will decrease from $21 to $17. For more information, please visit the Latest News page.
